Revelation 12:1-17

“Then I heard a loud voice in heaven, saying,”Now the salvation, and the power, and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come……”– Revelation 12:10
While the Book of Revelation can be viewed as a book of mystery, since many of the imagery found here may need clarification, in it we can find wonderful truths of God! Today’s reading is one of such portions – although there are verses that demand explanation, God’s message to His people can be understood with clarity! Our key verse speaks a powerful principle which applies to everyone’s life!!
A declaration is made in heaven announcing the beginning of four things: Salvation, Power and the Kingdom of God and the Authority of Christ!
The power and authority, referred above needs to be understood and experienced in order to receive salvation and come under the rule of the divine Kingdom! The word for Power in Greek is “dunamis” and that for Authority is “exousia.” Dunamis denotes the inherent power; it means to be able, by virtue of one’s own ability and resources! That mighty power of God inherent in Christ was manifest through the miracles He did! On the other hand, exousia denotes executive power—the right to exercise power – it denotes the right and might!!
This is better explained in John 5:27 “ and He [God] gave Him [Jesus Christ] authority to execute judgement,” and in John 17:2 “even as You [Father God] gave Him [Jesus Christ] authority over all flesh..”
It is the plan of God for anybody who lives on earth to establish His Kingdom in them!! In Mark 1:15 Jesus declared “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand...” In John 3:3 &5, He explained – “ unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” In order to start this process in us, there are certain prerequisites as given in Rev.12: 9 & 11-namely, the defeat of satan (and all his works) through the Cross of Calvary and the victory of the saints by trusting in the work of Cross (blood of the Lamb) and proclamation by their mouth (word of their testimony).
“The power …. and the authority of Christ have come” -will you be it’s recipient by giving Jesus the permission? His mighty power can destroy the work of devil and start building God’s kingdom in you! Jesus said in Matthew 28:18 “All authority has been given to me in heaven and on earth”— He is the only one who can save you from the control of devil! He can deliver you – provided you trust in and confess the power of His finished work on the cross!!
Many people wonder how to start the process – it is simple:
Cooperate with God to destroy the work of the devil which he has been doing in you (by way of sinful acts such as lying, various sexual sins, pride, unforgiveness, addictions – to alcohol, drugs and other substances, involvement in witchcraft, prayers and sacrifices to idols, saints, tarot cards, horoscope, fortune telling, believing zodiac signs, abortions, cheating governments (in taxes etc.), giving and taking bribes, abusing spouses, rebellion against all kinds of authority, etc.) Confess all such sinful acts and be open with God – agree if you have done any of those sins and state your sincere intention to stay away henceforth.
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord (master) and invite Him into your life to save you.
Confess the blood of Jesus Christ that was poured at the Cross of Calvary has the power to cleanse you.
Declare that you are in Christ and hence victorious!
God will begin a process in you – which you will start experiencing through the victories on a daily basis!
And they sang a new song, saying,
“Worthy are You to take the book and to break its seals; for You were slain, and purchased for God with Your blood men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation.
